Loose Stool

Having loose stool is generally a sign of diarrhea.

For most adults with a minor case of loose stool caused by diarrhea, it is important for them to contact their doctor with any concerns that they may have. It is also important to get enough rest. Not to drink alcohol, diet drinks, or anything that has caffiene, and to avoid milk. Some adults report that eating applesauce, rice, toast, and bananas help alleviate the frequency of bathroom visits.

In most cases, if a child or someone elderly has a minor acute case of loose stool caused by diarrhea, it is usually a good idea for them to consume liquids on a regular basis and to call a doctor for advice.
