Stool
Hard stool may be a sign of constipation, when passing of the
stool becomes infrequent or causes strain. Other signs include:
Dry and hard bowel movements
Infrequent bowel movements or less than 1 bowel movement every
72 hours
Irregular bowel movements
No bowel movement
Painful bowel movements
Hard stool Constipation can be caused by:
Certain medications and meat products.
Eating too much junk food that consists of high fat or sugar
content.
Lack of exercise
Lack of caffeine free / alcohol liquid consumption
Stress
Thyroid irregularity
Diabetes
Scleroderma
Colon Cancer
Amyloid
Hard stool constipation Remedies
Increase fiber and water consumption. At 25 grams of fiber and
at least 8 glasses of water daily for adults.
Increase consumption of fiber dense grains, fruits, and vegetables
for fiber.
Increase a moderate level of exercise regularly to at least
20 minutes 4 times at week.
Inquire with your medical doctor if laxatives and stool softeners
are right for you. Usually a change in diet can soften stools.
If none of the above listed remedies solves the problem of hard
stool, have a doctor examine if the bile is binding to the stool.
Bile helps soften stool.
